Upgrade RAM laptop, what do I know?
I want my laptop RAM upgrade. But I'm not sure what type of RAM it need. I have existing 512 MB. is the new RAM I'm buying while enabling the same speed as the existing ones with? I can provide more information about it? Thank you.
I the answers are quite right, but they are not complete. 1) To maufacturer's webiste and see the exact system you have to find out ** ** Exactly what kind and how much RAM you can put on your system. For example, if your system currently has PC2100 RAM (ECC), then you have to replace configuration It with PC2100 RAM, that in one. 2) No more RAM to handle as your motherboard, rated by the manufacturer. If your MB is rated for 1 GB and are somehow able to to get 4GB in there, keep the fire extinguisher handy. : D 3) RAM amount may vary per card and you can play with the amounts to the corresponding speed but the speed is not variable. If your RAM with 400MHz bus and try to be in a 533MHz card, there NOT drop the speed of your computer. Assuming that it all works, then the RAM is running only on 400MHz. If you are ready to buy a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all my stuff from them. I bought a complete new system from them with a warranty for less than it would cost me to build them yourself or order a custom-made by the makers. They gave me ATX926 the code to get to 10% discount at the checkout. Try to see it, if it works for you. I do not know how they know are so cheap, but they are.
